Can you program a BMW key without the dealer?
Yes, including all-keys-lost. Depending on the module generation, that means working through the diagnostic port or accessing the security module directly.
My BMW comfort access stopped working but the car still starts. Why?
The key is still valid to the immobilizer but proximity detection has failed. That usually means a weak key battery, a failed antenna, or a comfort access module fault, not a dead key.
How long does a BMW all-keys-lost take?
Typically two to three hours, because the security module generally has to be accessed directly. Any quote of 30 minutes for a BMW all-keys-lost should make you suspicious.
